The Start-Up category is intended for aspiring entrepreneurs with high potential who are looking to launch their business in the UK for the first time. Applicants do not need to have any initial funds to invest for eligibility. They must, however, have a new and innovative, viable, and scalable business idea that can be or has been accepted by an endorsing body. This visa allows an individual to stay in the UK for 2 years to develop their business and permits them to work for an employer to support themselves financially if required. The Start-Up visa permits a successful applicant to bring their family members (spouses/companions and children below the age of 18) to the United Kingdom. This visa cannot be extended, and visa holders are not eligible for settlement. However, at the end of 2 years, applicants will be able to apply for further leave to remain in the Innovator category to continue developing their business (https://www.gov.uk/start-up-visa).

REQUIREMENTS FOR A STARTUP VISA

• You are at least 18 years old
• You have a business concept that is:
• A new idea – you cannot join a business that is already trading
• Innovative – you must have an original business idea which is different from anything else on the market
• Viable – it has potential for growth
• Proof of English language level B2 (equivalent to IELTS 5.5 or NARIC or UK degree or proof of your current status as Tier 1, Tier 2 general, Tier 4 and Startup)
• Maintenance funds for Startup Visa: At least £1270 to support yourself alongside £15,000-£20,000 of funds for your start-up venture in the UK. You will need £378 for yourself, plus £285 for a dependent partner and £315 for any children. This needs to be held in a bank account for 90 days prior to the date of application and cannot come from your investment funds. Endorsing bodies fees of GBP 250-500 per month will be charged extra on successful endorsement over 2 years period.

OUR PROCESS AND SERVICES:

Step 1: Pre-approval from an endorsing body

Provide us with a brief executive summary of your business idea, outlining the innovative, viability, and scalability aspects of the proposal. We ensure a response from an endorsing body within 2-3 weeks of receiving a copy of your executive summary.

Step 2: Business plan writeup

If your business concept is pre-approved, there is a strong plausibility to obtain an endorsement. At this stage, we will prepare a detailed business plan, bespoke to your idea and your background.  It will only take 2-3 weeks for a precise initial draft, followed by an additional 7-10 working days for any further amendments once you review the draft.

Step 3: Formal endorsement application

This is like a “mini” visa application that goes to the endorsing body for consideration.

Here, we submit your passport, final business plan, evidence of funds, and evidence of English proficiency. The endorsing body will usually take 5-10 working days to process the application followed by an invite for a virtual interview.

Step 4: Virtual interview

We will prepare you for the interview which usually lasts for 45-60 minutes.

Step 5: Offer and acceptance

If the interview goes well, the endorsing body will issue the official endorsement letter, which is linked with the UK Home Office’s system

Step 6:  Business advisory support
